Open Courses throughout England in 2011
In response to changes to the National Minimum Standards and new Fostering Regulations, Skills4Learning will be running workshops throughout England.
These workshops will begin in April 2011, coinciding with the implementation of the changes within the Fostering Sector. We are running them at several locations, and all individuals working within the sector are invited to attend. We will provide an introduction to the changes, and the impact that these will have on the work of foster carers and support staff.

This statement regarding the changes is from the Department of Education:
"The Department is currently completing the revision of the fostering services regulations, statutory guidance for fostering and the national minimum standards for fostering services.
These form the legal framework for the running of fostering services and are relevant to a local authority or an independent fostering provider, and to a local authority as a commissioner of a placement from an independent provider.
The framework sets out the minimum requirements which must be met. The revised framework will be in force in April 2011."
