Internet Safety
This is a half day course with the aim of introducing foster carers to the internet and the sites often used by teenagers. The course will look at various social networking sites and what they are capable of doing as well as other areas of interest for young people.
This course is designed to give foster carers a better undertanding of what young people do whilst using the internet and give them the tools to recognise unsafe and/or inquisitive behaviour and how to manage it.
The Trainer
Niki Kelly has been delivering training to foster carers for over 5 years. She has worked with young people in various settings for the last twelve years and has had a variety of experiences that enable her to deliver a varied programme of training.
For the last five years Niki has been delivering NVQ's and training across the care sector and recently became an approved foster carer.
Niki holds the NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People and Level 4 Care. She is also a qualified assessor and verifier and holds the Certificate in Education and Literacy Support qualification allowing her to support learners with a variety of needs
The cost is £400 where the contracted service provides the venue and £600 where Skills4Learning are required to provide the venue. This is inclusive of materials, expenses and a telephone consultation to ensure the course fully meets your needs.
